Convenings
Early in its development, the American Voices New Play Institute held convenings and symposia that gathered leaders in the field for roundtables and workshops to discuss new play development trends and best practices focused on contributing to the ongoing dialogue regarding the new play infrastructure nationwide. Proceedings were thoroughly documented through video recording, blogging, social media, and commissioned white papers. Each convening featured an event that is free and open to the public. The first round of Convenings & Symposia were hosted on the campus of Georgetown University, in partnership with Georgetown’s Theater & Performance Studies Program.
