Mead and Metro Ensembles
The Voices of Now is a prestigious program for dedicated student-artists that gives young people an engaging environment in which to write, perform, and share stories that shape their lives.
Artists in the Mead and Metro Ensembles train in the Voices of Now devising process and techniques once a week during the school year while exploring the topics that are most pressing and inspirational to the participants.The Mead and Metro ensembles meet at Arena Stage with professional theater artists to create and perform an original, autobiographical theater piece to be performed at the Voices of Now Festival at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.
Previous performance experience is not required.
Dates
Mead:
Saturdays from 10 AM – 1 PM
From January 18, 2025 - May 17, 2025
Grades 6-8
Metro:
Sundays from 12 PM – 3 PM
From Sunday January 19, 2025 - Sunday May 18, 2025
Grades 9-12
Location
The ensemble will meet, rehearse, and perform in person at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.
Requirements

Young artists in grades 6–8 are encouraged to register for the Mead ensembles.

Young artists in grades 9-12 are encouraged to register for the Metro ensembles.

No previous experience is required.

Registered artists are encouraged to bring a water bottle, a small snack, and shoes and clothing that allow them to move freely and comfortably.
Tuition
Tuition for the Voices of Now Mead Ensemble is $1,000*. Click on the button below to register.
