About the Artist
Victor Simonson—Music Director/Composer. Simonson recently composed the score to Amen Corner that appeared in February, 2020 at Shakespeare Theater. He was nominated for the Helen Hayes Award for music directing Three Mo' Divas in 2006. Composer for the groundbreaking HipHopera, Stomping Grounds, Glimmerglass Festival. Other Washington DC area appearances include Cover Conductor, West Side Story, National Symphony Orchestra; Music Director, Bud Not Buddy, Kennedy Center. Associate Conductor for The Wiz, Ragtime, 110 in the Shade, Freedom's Song and Violet at the Ford's Theater; Associate Conductor, Pajama Game, Newsies, Arena Stage. I’ve been composing original music for the last 25 years and composed the music for AMEN CORNER that premiered in 2020 at Shakespeare Theater and a HipHopera that was performed at Glimmerglass Festival In 2017. I’d love to record a musical work or song for your personal use or company. Over the last 12 years of my marriage, I’ve composed original love songs for my wife. In 2018, for my 10th year of marriage I produced, MAKE TIME FOR LOVE that can be seen on Youtube.
